The Lady Vanishes

I did this sketch from a screenshot of the 1938 Hitchcock film, "The Lady Vanishes". My girlfriend and I are determined to watch all Hitchcock's films. We've watched a bunch so far. I tend to like his lighter films, his comedies, more than the serious stuff most people associate with him. Among my favorites are "North By Northwest", "Mr. & Mrs. Smith", "The Trouble With Harry", and "The Lady Vanishes".

Rope is definitely one of my faves, but i really like some of the earlier 'cloak and dagger' stuff he did in England before he went to Hollywood... The 39 Steps, The Lady Vanishes. there's something very quiet and eloquent about his earlier work. he tells really big stories in incredibly tight packages. that is talent.
