Something for fun, still with the boxing theme. I wanted to emphasize tonal relationships, with the foreground boxer having a higher contrast, and the further boxer in grey tones.
I took a design from an earlier post of mine (right), and tweeked it (left) a bit. I will probably do several more "tweeks" to the design. It's a good exercise to push a design and a pose further and further, exaggerating more each time, and simplifying.
I got the mermaids out of my system. Same with the Indian guys. So my next thing is BOXERS, maybe WRESTLERS and MARTIAL ARTISTS too! It's fun to make up fighters. This guy is supposed to be an old school boxer from back in the early 1900's I guess.
Unlike the mermaid post below, I wanted a loose line in this, not a crisp clean vectorized looking line. Here is the process, from rough, to clean line, to flat colors, and finally finished pic.
