Fini

That's the last of my life drawing that used to be on my website.

hips

More genuflecting.

stare

I had a difficult time drawing her. Her name is Sarah, she is a beautiful life drawing model, and in this pose she was staring right at me the whole time.

pole 2

This model was drawing with us, just another artist, until one week she decided to cross over from life drawer to life drawing model. Gutsy.

pole

I like the simplicity of the lines in this one.

defunct

More life drawing that used to be on my now defunct website.

back view

Another gesture from life drawing.

life drawing with a bit of color

Just an experiment during life drawing, trying to throw in a bit of color for a change.

kneeling...

...or is it genuflecting?

gesture

An old life drawing gesture.

life drawing week 8

For this session I sat on the floor and did my drawing, still waiting for my art "donkey" bench. Sitting on the floor was a HUGE mistake, my back was hurting BIG TIME during the life drawing session, I put an ice pack on my back as soon as I got home. This morning was bad; my back was in so much pain, I could barely role myself out of bed. On the other hand, it was a good life drawing session, I found the model very easy to draw. No pain, no gain, I guess.

life drawing week 7

I actually ordered an Art School "Donkey" Bench (or "Drawing Horse") to sit on for life drawing. Hopefully I will receive it in a week or two, but until then I will be standing uncomfortably at the easel.

life drawing week 6

I still haven't found a comfortable position to draw in. If I stand and use the easel, my shoulder kills and my back hurts; if I sit, my shoulder hurts even more. And in either of those positions my drawing surface is not at the right height and angle yet. I had the most success years ago at life drawing when I used to sit on a wooden "Donkey" bench. I am thinking I will buy one this week.

life drawing week 3

This week's life drawing went much better than last week. I am still rusty though.

life drawing

Tonight I went life drawing. It's been waaaayyyy too long since I last went life drawing, I am horribly out of practice. It'll take a while to get back into the swing of things. Of all the drawings from tonights class, this is the only piece that doesn't completely suck.

first life drawing in over 3 years

I finally went life drawing, after a hiatus of more than 3 years. I was completely out of practice, and my drawings were not good. It'll take a couple of months of going life drawing at least once a week to get back into it. I thought it would be interesting to post some of the decent pieces, after each weekly session, and see if there is a noticeable improvement over the next few months.
