So excited!!!!!

A few weeks ago I finally bought a Cintiq. I have been wanting one desperately for a long time, and I finally bit the bullet and got one. I had to purchase it for a gig I wanted. I got the Cintiq, I got the gig. I am working on a show called Ugly Americans. The production keeps me very busy so I haven't had much time to fool around with the Cintiq on my own stuff. So I finally got around to doing this sketch tonight with my new piece of equipment. As for Ugly Americans, all I can say is this; Finally, after a long career in animation, I know what it is like to work on a show that I am actually a fan of myself. I have often wondered this; what would it be like to work on Sponge Bob, or Flap Jack, or Fosters, or the Venture Bros, or any other show that I really like. Now I know, it feels every bit as good as I thought. Anyway, check out Ugly Americans on Comedy Central on TV and you can also watch full episodes on Comedy Central's website.

cowboys and indians again

More doodles from clearing out my desk. Again, not something good enough for a portfolio piece, but a great way to fill a blog.

Vectorized and colored

Kinda reminds me of a character from the movie YOUNG GUNS. Or was YOUNG GUNS 2? Either way; it was a scene where a guy that looked like my guy here was at a bar, making some snide comments about BILLY THE KID. Little did he know that Billy The Kid(Emilio Estevez) was right there at the bar with him. I LOVE THE YOUNG GUNS MOVIES!!!

COWBOYS & INDIANS

I like this simple flat style of design. I like how you see both eyes but the face is like a profile. I may try to do a style like this for the next web episode of "THE Z - FILES," even though the first 4 episodes were not in this style at all. It would be interesting to see how it works with what I am trying to get across in The Z-Files. If it doesn't work, I will still do some animation with this flat retro UPA look to it.

Cowboy sketch

Today's sketch. I've been listening to Johnny Cash today, after seeing a preview of the Johnny Cash movie with Joquin Phoenix playing the lead roll. So I felt like drawing a cowboy.
