her again

I try to throw a character design based on my girlfriend in every production I can. This character looks like her when she was a kid.  If you ever see a cartoon character of a black girl with freckles on her cheeks, that's probably her.

logo design

I have been promising my girlfriend a logo for her business, BONGO KNOT, for a couple years now. This is the logo that will go on her knitted items made from sheep wool. I have other logos to do for her; an alpaca, a cotton plant, an angora bunny, and whatever other types of yarn fibers she uses.

I'm on the cover!

Okay, well it's not actually ME....but it is my art. This is the cover of this month's TOON BOOM NEWS, a magazine circulated in the animation industry to promote Toon Boom software and the studios using Toon Boom programs. The cover is a design I did for Oasis Animation. There are several posts from this production in my blog archives, pretty much all of September and October 2007 archives are just from this project. Am I mentioned in the article on the inside? Nope. But there is a fascinating interview with the guy that signs my check.
My Girlfriend is also in the magazine, well it's not actually my girlfriend...but it is a caricature of her. I've highlighted her in the top picture. She is one of the incidental characters in the club scene. When I showed her the picture in the magazine she screamed and giggled like a 10 year old girl, so I think she was happy about it.

I haven't been posting as often as I should be, been crazy busy with both work and play, and been out of town a lot this summer. But I will have a ton of new designs from the project I have been working on to post...A TON! The above pic is just a couple of incidental characters in the background, they are caricatures of my girlfriend and myself.

ARGHH!!

This was a special request by my girlfriend. This is how I draw her. She is fun to draw. I think I did a pretty good job of capturing her rage.
