I've seen quite a few artists do this; take an old design from many years ago and do a new version. So here's my first "Then & Now" entry. I designed this Frankenstein about 10 years ago. I liked him a lot at the time, but the new one is going to blow the old version away.

I still want to add the mutant monster to this shot, but now I'm not sure where he'll go. Maybe the assistant with the gnarled hand is enough for this pic. I can always do another poster...with the monster.

The Brain That Wouldn't Die

I love this movie. I want to draw a couple other characters from this film and add them to this shot.

Just finished watching the original 1958 version of "THE FLY". It's such a great movie. I was inspired  to draw this while watching the film.

Best Aliens....EVER!

I've been watching the old Twilight Zone series and saw the episode called "Mr. Dingle The Strong" from season 2. It stars Burgess Meredith and Don Rickles. It is also has the most craziest aliens ever imagined. This guy with two heads is supposed to be a martian. They are so fascinatingly creepy that I had to draw them. I mean the moment they walk onto their first scene my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the screen.  The episode is up on You Tube. I provided some screen shots to convince you of how wonderfully crazy this episode is.

I was thinking I would add shade on the zombie hands, give a two-tone look....but nah! I'll leave it like this and move on to something else.

Laying on flat colors. Most of coloring is done in photoshop, so at this point I am not worried about tones and values.



I started very rough, moving around the tombstones to get them in a good composition that works with the animation; at this point the tombstones are just blocks. Once everything was in place, then I put the rough details on the tombstones and crosses.

My favorite holiday

I love Halloween! For a horror movie junkie it's like Christmas, only all evil and scary. So I'll be playing with horror themed animation and art for the next month. This is a work in progress.
