A cleaner version. I kept the sharp fin on top rough, but gave the rest of him a cleaner line.

I sketched this girl while sitting on a terrace at a little pastry shop with my girlfriend. Her back had this really angular curve in it. I whipped out my sketch book and started drawing her, while my girlfriend whipped out her knitting.

Episode 11 complete!

It's episode #11 in the series, but it's only the second episode produced. I am not producing these in order. I want to have 3 or 4 random episodes done by October, not necessarily the first four in chronological order. Tell your friend's to check it out, leave a comment, rate it. I felt inspired to do a bit of rough animation today. So I took a sketch I did from an earlier post and put some movement into it. The source of my inspiration comes from 3 things; first- I finished my first episode of Toilet Puck and feel really good about it. Second- all the amazing art blogs I have been looking at. Third-Dan Meth. He is one of the most prolific animators I know, it seems every few days he has made a new animated short. And they are all great! Check out the Meth Minute.

Sponge Bob Light Saber

A friend of mine asked me for a special request. It's his kid's birthday and he wants me to draw a picture for him. He likes Sponge Bob and Star Wars, so I drew Sponge Bob with light saber and his kid dressed as a Jedi with a jelly fish net.
Cleaned and colored Sponge Bob, next is the Jedi Kid. I also want to add Squidward in there as the Emperor.Cleaned and colored the Jedi kid.

Even though I'm scrambling to finish a short web series, I made time to sketch this guy. It was just a picture in in the news of Justice Souter. I can't really call this a caricature, because I was not aiming at getting his likeness, just the over all character and pose...but I stuck it under the caricature label anyway.

He's in the news, so I drew him. I went with a profile shot because in the mug shot his front view is probably the scariest thing I have ever seen...maybe I'll take a crack at his front view after all.

happy with it

Made a minor change to her shoulder/back area and got rid of the line on the shoulder. Simplifies that area.


I did a rough sketch and just started cleaning it up and vector tracing it. I wasn't sure where I was going with it, I got rid of the outlines and played with the color, and ended up with this simple looking illustration that I am pleasantly surprised with.
