MEG again

Here's another one of my Meg sketches.

MEG

One of my favorite "art of Disney" books is HERCULES. I felt like drawing MEG. So I went through the whole book and drew every pose of Meg in the book. By the end I was pretty comfortable drawing her, so I did some of my own poses. Here is one of them.

NOAH'S ARK

Here's a scene from a project I worked on 2 years ago. It's a scene from the story of Noah's Ark. I changed it a bit, so that it loops, otherwise the next scene was the flood of water.

ALLSTAR SCARMAN

Here's an old run cycle of SCARMAN, from my TOILET PUCK universe. The song is ALLSTARS, from a now defunct band called DILAN DOG. They were a great band while they were around!

LEAPING LIAZRD!

I used this piece of animation I did in the banner of my web site. Here it is a bit larger.

Vectorized and colored

Kinda reminds me of a character from the movie YOUNG GUNS. Or was YOUNG GUNS 2? Either way; it was a scene where a guy that looked like my guy here was at a bar, making some snide comments about BILLY THE KID. Little did he know that Billy The Kid(Emilio Estevez) was right there at the bar with him. I LOVE THE YOUNG GUNS MOVIES!!!

SUMMER'S HERE!

Summer is just about here! I feel great! It was a long cold winter. I am newly inspired to do something I have not done in many years; paint something! I'm not talking a digital painting in photoshop or painter, I mean the real thing, with paint and brushes, rags and mess, it may be water colors, or guash or acrylics, or even pastels or a mixed medium. I am pretty antsy about this. The past few years I have been doing all my rendering and coloring on the computer. It will be a challenge to dive right into a painting with out the benefit of an "UNDO" button. So I'll do a few skeches and then decide which one I want to paint. Here is my first sketch, nothing says summer more than baseball.

RAZOR

Not the striped pattern of fur that my cat Razor has, but I captured Razor's attitude pretty good.

COWBOYS & INDIANS

I like this simple flat style of design. I like how you see both eyes but the face is like a profile. I may try to do a style like this for the next web episode of "THE Z - FILES," even though the first 4 episodes were not in this style at all. It would be interesting to see how it works with what I am trying to get across in The Z-Files. If it doesn't work, I will still do some animation with this flat retro UPA look to it.

SKETCHY WEIRDNESS

Just some sketches, Frankenstein, Nosferatu, and some random characters.

FAT GUY ON THE METRO

I saw this huge guy on the subway the other day. I drew him from memory first thing when I got into the studio half hour later.

FRESH FROM THE GARBAGE PILE

Even blob monsters are born kinda cute.

1 EYE or 2?

I would go with the one eye.

2 EYES or ONE?

Personally, I like him with one eye.

BLOB MONSTER BABY

They're all cute when they're small.
