It sure is fun drawing and posing a pair of pants as a character. It reminds me of an old animation exercise, where you had to draw an inanimate object and give it life. It was usually a sack of flour though.

her again

I try to throw a character design based on my girlfriend in every production I can. This character looks like her when she was a kid.  If you ever see a cartoon character of a black girl with freckles on her cheeks, that's probably her.

Zombie walk

I can't believe I did not post this old walk cycle from my old website. I moved over some of the stuff I liked from my old site to this blog a long time ago, some life drawing, some character designs...but I forgot all about this zombie walking.  I wonder what other stuff I forgot.

Stand By Area

In an older post HERE, I showed an earlier version of this BG without any characters in it.  Here it is full of characters that missed their chance to get on the Ark; a Minotaur, a Chinese Dragon, a Woolly Mammoth, Dodo Birds, a Griffin, and our two Dinosaur characters.

Just finished watching the original 1958 version of "THE FLY". It's such a great movie. I was inspired  to draw this while watching the film.

NEW BANNER TIME!

I figured it was time for a new banner, and since I am just about finished on "The Ark" project, I decided to make a banner dedicated to "The Ark". If you miss my old "Planet Of The Apes" banner, here it is.

Post Production

Hurray!!! All the animation is done! Now begins the post production phase, editing the scenes together and adding sound effects.  This project "The Ark" and my "Toilet Puck" series are the most rewarding work I've done, simply because of the total and complete freedom to do whatever I wanted to do. Also, both projects have funny scripts and great voice acting. "The Ark" was written by Ken Edwards, I found his job on craigslist, of all places, looking for an animator, and it turned into one of the best thing I've ever done. Stay tuned, the finished short will be out soon.

meat locker scene...UPDATED with AUDIO!!!

I took the audio out of this clip so it doesn't keep repeating the dialog when anyone is on this blog page, but with the audio this is one of the funniest scenes I've ever animated.  I also added a swinging motion to the carcasses and a shadow behind the characters.

UPDATE: Added the dialog and a Play Button (per the suggestion from my super-awesome girlfriend).

I've been working on this animated 11 minute short for a couple years now, off and on when I can make the time.  Pretty close to the end now.  If I can be very productive, I can get it done in about 4 more weeks. This is the last scene with the brown horse character. He's just so happy to be on Noah's Ark he doesn't notice what's in store for him.
