3D Bee

Built the Bee character in 3D, using Blender. He's a work in progress, but for my first ever dabbling in 3D I think I am doing a great job so far. In terms of design he is very true to the original design, just gotta play with the colors, and try to get that darker shading around the edges of the egg.

Another character from 'August the June Bug'.  Redesigned her head and face a few times. This is the latest design, I think it's a keeper. The first design was too insect like. The second one was too human. This one is anthropomorphized just the right amount.

Ain't he cute?!

Who is this super cute guy? He's from a series my girlfriend and I are developing to pitch this year. His name is August, he is a June Bug... he was born a bit late.
This idea has been on the back burner the past 3 or 4 years. I only had the 4 main characters, designed by my brother, and a one-page pitch for the show. So I am going to fully flesh out the series, design all the secondary characters, write a sample script, get some backgrounds drawn and colored, and put together a lovely, full pitch package in the next few months. Every 3 or 4 years I get that itch to pitch projects... and this is the year again.  I think being a writer on 'Zafari' has given me much more credibility, and I should be taken much more seriously when it comes time to pitch ideas.

Haven't been doing much drawing lately, been busy as a writer on a series called 'Zafari'. It was probably the best experience I ever had in the animation industry, and one that I hope will lead to more writing gigs.
